Dashmool Powder Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Dashmool Powder against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Dashmool Powder contains 10 ingredients, most of which are traditional Ayurvedic herbs in powdered form. The active ingredients we have data for are bael (Aegle marmelos), stereospermum, tribulus, and several others listed individually within the proprietary herbal blend.
Bael is traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine; stereospermum and tribulus have been studied for potential effects on blood sugar and blood pressure. The product contains no inactive fillers or binding agents beyond the herbal powders themselves.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Evidence on this product's effectiveness is limited. Bael has insufficient reliable evidence to rate its use for asthma or shigellosis.
Tribulus shows possibly effective evidence for sexual dysfunction, but possibly ineffective evidence for athletic performance. Data on its use for benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) is insufficient.
For most of the other herbs in this blend — solanum indicum, premna integrifolia, solanum xenthocarpum, oroxylum indicum, desmodium gangeticum, stereospermum, uraria picta, and gmelina arborea — effectiveness ratings are not established in the data we hold.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Bael is widely eaten as ripe fruit, but concentrated supplements lack strong safety data. Large amounts may cause gastrointestinal upset and constipation.
Safety in pregnancy is not established, and some traditional sources advise against it; the same applies to breastfeeding. Stereospermum has very limited human safety data overall, and safety is not well established.
Tribulus is often well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, though long-term and quality data are limited. Rare serious adverse effects with tribulus have been reported, including liver and kidney injury, seizures, and in one case, severe weakness and organ damage.
Tribulus should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to lack of safety information.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Dashmool Powder, check with your pharmacist if you take antidiabetes drugs (moderate risk of low blood sugar from bael, stereospermum, and tribulus), blood pressure medications (moderate risk of dangerously low pressure from tribulus), cholinergic drugs like donepezil (moderate risk from bael), lithium (moderate risk of increased levels from tribulus), or drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 or CYP3A4 enzymes, such as amitriptyline, haloperidol, lovastatin, or ketoconazole (minor risk from bael). No interactions are documented in our data for the remaining ingredients we could not check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This Ayurvedic blend may appeal to those seeking traditional herbal support, but it carries real medication interactions — especially if you take diabetes drugs, blood pressure medications, cholinergic drugs, or lithium. You should check your exact medications before starting and discuss this product with your pharmacist or doctor, particularly if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing a chronic condition.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Dashmool Powder by Vedic Powders contains several herbal ingredients with documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern is bael, which can lower blood sugar and theoretically increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when combined with antidiabetes drugs like glimepiride. Blood glucose monitoring and possible dose adjustments may be needed.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Bael also has Moderate-severity interactions with cholinergic drugs (used for conditions like myasthenia gravis and Alzheimer's disease), where it might increase unwanted effects. Additionally, bael may inhibit two liver enzymes (CYP1A2 and CYP3A4) that clear certain medications, theoretically raising their levels — though this hasn't been seen in humans yet.
The Minor-severity interactions here involve drugs like amitriptyline, haloperidol, ondansetron, lovastatin, and ketoconazole.
Stereospermum and tribulus, also in this formula, carry Moderate-severity interactions with antidiabetes drugs and may increase the risk of low blood sugar. Tribulus additionally interacts with blood pressure medications (antihypertensive drugs) — raising the risk of blood pressure dropping too low — and with lithium, where it may increase lithium levels and require dose adjustment.
Solanum indicum, Premna integrifolia, Solanum xenthocarpum, Oroxylum indicum, Desmodium gangeticum, Uraria picta, and Gmelina arborea could not be checked; we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 948 individual medications.

For each ingredient in Dashmool Powder with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Aegle marmelos, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Evidence from animal research suggests that extracts of bael seed and leaf can reduce blood glucose levels. Theoretically, bael might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.
Cholinergic Drugs
Bael leaf extract shows acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity in vitro. Theoretically, bael might have additive effects with cholinergic drugs and increase the risk of cholinergic side effects.
Cholinergic drugs include bethanechol (Urecholine), donepezil (Aricept), echothiophate (Phospholine Iodide), edrophonium (Enlon, Reversol, Tensilon), neostigmine (Prostigmin), physostigmine (Antilirium), pyridostigmine (Mestinon, Regonol), succinylcholine (Anectine, Quelicin), and tacrine (Cognex).
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Bael extract and its constituent marmesinin inhibited cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) activity in vitro. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. Theoretically, bael might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others. Use bael cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Bael and its constituents marmelosin and marmesinin inhibited cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity in vitro. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. Theoretically, bael might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use bael cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.
Tribulus terrestris, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking tribulus with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that Tribulus can lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes who are taking antidiabetes medications.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking tribulus with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that tribulus can lower blood pressure by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Tribulus has also demonstrated hypotensive effects in pre-hypertensive adults.
Lithium
Theoretically, tribulus might increase the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
Tribulus is thought to have diuretic properties. Due to these potential diuretic effects, tribulus might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium. The dose of lithium might need to be decreased.
Stereospermum suaveolens, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Animal research suggests that stereospermum can have hypoglycemic effects. This has not been shown in humans. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking antidiabetes drugs. Theoretically, concomitant use with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.
