What’s inside
Full disclosure
Figwort Powder contains a single active ingredient: figwort in powder form. There are no inactive ingredients listed for this product.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We hold no effectiveness ratings for figwort in our data, so evidence for its benefits isn't established in the information available to us.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Figwort has limited safety data, so the recommendation is to use it with care and only short-term. The safety data are not robust enough to support use during pregnancy, so it's best avoided if you are pregnant.
Similarly, there is no reliable safety information for breastfeeding, so avoid it while nursing. No adverse effects are documented in our data.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications before starting, especially if you take lithium (a Moderate concern) or any diuretic drug like furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, or spironolactone (also Moderate). Figwort may affect how your body handles both.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
Figwort Powder is a single-ingredient product best suited for short-term use under guidance. If you take lithium or any water pill (diuretic), talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — both carry Moderate interaction concerns.
Because safety data are limited, especially in pregnancy and breastfeeding, confirm it's right for you with your own healthcare provider.

Figwort, Powder monograph & interactionsFigwort Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Figwort Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection has documented interactions with diuretic drugs and lithium.
The most serious concern is with lithium: figwort's diuretic properties may reduce how your body excretes lithium, potentially raising lithium levels to unsafe ranges and requiring a dose adjustment from your doctor.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Diuretic drugs (water pills) are a Moderate concern as well. Figwort may compound the potassium loss these drugs already cause, increasing your risk for dangerously low potassium (hypokalemia).
If you take a potassium-depleting diuretic, your doctor or pharmacist may need to start or increase a potassium supplement.
Altogether, these interactions span 76 individual medications. Before starting this product, use the search tool below to check your exact prescriptions — especially if you take lithium or any diuretic.

For each ingredient in Figwort Powder with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Figwort, Powder
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, overuse of figwort might compound diuretic-induced potassium loss. There is some concern that people taking figwort along with potassium depleting diuretics might have an increased risk for hypokalemia. Initiation of potassium supplementation or an increase in potassium supplement dose may be necessary for some patients. Some diuretics that can deplete potassium include chlorothiazide (Diuril), chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, Hydrodiuril, Microzide), and others.
Lithium
Figwort is thought to have diuretic properties. Theoretically, due to these potential diuretic effects, figwort might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium. The dose of lithium might need to be decreased.
