What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Flora 50-14 Clinical Strength against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Flora 50-14 Clinical Strength by Innate Response Formulas
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Flora 50-14 Clinical Strength is a 14-ingredient probiotic blend built around specific strains of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium bacteria, each identified by a proprietary strain number (like SD-5212 for Lactobacillus acidophilus). These live organisms are meant to support digestive and immune function.
The product also contains inactive ingredients—microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, L-leucine, and silicon dioxide—which serve as fillers and capsule material.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product varies by strain and condition. Lactobacillus acidophilus is rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is rated possibly effective for IBS and respiratory tract infections. However, most of the other strains and conditions listed in our data are rated as having insufficient reliable evidence to know whether they work.
The product has not been evaluated for many of the health claims you might see made about probiotics.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
This product is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. However, because it contains live microorganisms, there is a theoretical concern that in rare cases they could cause infection in people who are very ill, immunocompromised, or have central venous catheters.
Uncommon gastrointestinal side effects have been reported with probiotic combinations, including bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea. For Lactobacillus acidophilus specifically, isolated cases of serious infections like bacteremia and sepsis have been documented, though these are thought to occur mainly when bacteria from the supplement translocate from elsewhere in the body.
Lactobacillus acidophilus is rated possibly safe in pregnancy; Bifidobacterium longum and Bifidobacterium bifidum are also rated possibly safe in pregnancy. Data on the other strains during pregnancy and lactation are not on file or are incomplete.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take antibiotic drugs. Antibiotics can significantly reduce the viability of the live organisms in this supplement, making it less effective.
If you do take antibiotics, separate your dose of this product from your antibiotic dose by several hours.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a multi-strain probiotic aimed at people with IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or vaginal health concerns—though the evidence for most of these uses is limited. If you take antibiotics, separate them from this supplement by a few hours to avoid killing off the live organisms.
People who are very ill or have weakened immune systems should check with their doctor before starting it. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product makes sense for you and whether it fits with any other medications or supplements you're taking.

Flora 50-14 Clinical Strength by Innate Response Formulas Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Flora 50-14 Clinical Strength contains several Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains through which it interacts with antibiotic drugs.
The most serious interaction is Moderate severity: when you take this product together with antibiotics, the antibiotics may kill the live organisms in the supplement, making it less effective. The affected strains are Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus gasseri, Bifidobacterium longum, and Bifidobacterium bifidum.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
All five of these strains share the same concern with antibiotic drugs. Since this is a probiotic supplement containing live and active microorganisms, simultaneous dosing with antibiotics can significantly reduce the number of viable organisms.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Several other ingredients in this product—Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactococcus lactis, Bifidobacterium infantis, and Bifidobacterium lactis—we could not check because we hold no interaction data for them.
