The evidence for these ingredients is limited. For lavender, dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain) is rated possibly effective, but cancer-related pain is possibly ineffective, and pre-procedural anxiety, cancer-related fatigue, and alopecia (hair loss) don't have enough reliable evidence to rate.
Feverfew's effectiveness for tension headache, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and prurigo nodularis is insufficient to rate. Periwinkle and meadowsweet have no effectiveness ratings on file in our data.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lavender is generally well tolerated in approved forms, but the essential oil is toxic if swallowed and can irritate some people's skin. Common side effects from oral lavender include breath odor, constipation, diarrhea, stomach upset, belching, headache, and nausea.
Topically, allergic skin reactions can occur; rare cases of gynecomastia (breast development) have been reported in prepubertal boys using lavender oil. Feverfew is generally well tolerated short-term but can trigger allergic reactions and mouth irritation; chewing fresh leaves is riskier.
Gastrointestinal upset (heartache, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, bloating) is common. Stopping feverfew after long-term use may cause "post-feverfew syndrome" with anxiety, headaches, and insomnia.
Periwinkle contains toxic alkaloids and is regarded as unsafe for oral use; it can cause liver and kidney damage, nerve injury, stomach problems, skin flushing, and low blood pressure. Meadowsweet contains salicylates and in large doses may cause nausea and stomach complaints; salicylate-related side effects like stomach irritation and ringing in the ears are theoretically possible but not well studied.

Feverfew Flowering Aerial Parts Extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, feverfew might have additive effects and increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Laboratory research suggests that feverfew may inhibit platelet aggregation. Additionally, in one case report, a 36-year-old patient taking feverfew 2400 mg daily for 3 months experienced vaginal bleeding and a prolonged menstrual cycle, with a modest increase in partial thromboplastin time (PTT) and prothrombin time (PT).
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Laboratory research shows that feverfew might inhibit CYP1A2. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
Laboratory research shows that feverfew might inhibit CYP2C19. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C8 (Cyp2C8) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C8.

Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.

Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.

Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Laboratory research shows that feverfew might inhibit CYP3A4. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Lavender Flower Extract
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, lavender might potentiate the therapeutic effects and adverse effects of CNS depressants.
Laboratory research suggests that lavender has sedative effects. However, clinical studies in patients taking oral lavender oil (Silexan) 160 mg for 10 weeks or taking lavender flower powder 1 gram daily for 2 months have not reported side effects of drowsiness, sedation, or sleepiness. There is still some concern that higher doses or different preparations of lavender might have additive effects with CNS depressant medications.
Periwinkle leaf & flowering tip extract
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking periwinkle may increase the effects of antihypertensive drugs due to the hypotensive activity of vincamine, a constituent of periwinkle.
Meadowsweet extract
Aspirin
Theoretically, meadowsweet might have an additive effect with other salicylate-containing drugs, such as aspirin.
Meadowsweet contains salicin, a plant salicylate; however, salicin doesn't seem to have the antiplatelet effects of aspirin.
Choline Magnesium Trisalicylate (Trilisate)
Theoretically, meadowsweet might have an additive effect with other salicylate-containing drugs, such as choline magnesium trisalicylate.
Meadowsweet contains salicin, a plant salicylate.
Salsalate (Disalcid)
Theoretically, meadowsweet might have an additive effect with other salicylate-containing drugs such as salsalate.
