Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: maqui berry extract at 2000 mg per serving. Maqui is a South American berry studied for potential effects on blood sugar and eye health.
The tablet also includes inactive ingredients (microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, and silica) that help hold the tablet together and aid absorption.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold for maqui berry is limited. For dry eye, impaired glucose tolerance (prediabetes), and psychological well-being, the available data rates the evidence as insufficient to know whether it works.
That doesn't mean it won't help—just that solid human trial data supporting these uses isn't yet in our files.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Safety data on maqui berry supplement amounts is sparse. Our information notes that maqui in food amounts is likely safe, but warns that supplement-strength doses haven't been well studied, and we don't hold enough safety information to recommend them at this time.
No adverse effects are documented in our data. For pregnancy and breastfeeding, safety information isn't on file—talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance if you're pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
If you take any diabetes medication or blood sugar-lowering drug, check your exact medications with the tool on this page before starting this supplement. Maqui berry may theoretically increase the risk of low blood sugar when combined with these drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and some safety-information gaps remain.
Maqui berry is a single-ingredient supplement with limited human evidence for its claimed uses. The main caution is a theoretical low blood sugar risk if you take diabetes medications.
Because supplement safety at this strength hasn't been well studied, it's worth discussing this product with your own doctor or pharmacist before you start, especially if you're on blood sugar–lowering drugs.
