HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Super Strength Cinnamon 2000 mg by Simply Supplements
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: cinnamon (from cassia cinnamon), supplied at 2000 mg per dose. It also contains three inactive ingredients — magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and dicalcium phosphate — which are used as a binder, filler, and flow agent to hold the tablet together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence on cinnamon for the conditions listed — amenorrhea (missed periods), angina (chest pain), common cold, diabetes, diarrhea, and dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol) — is insufficient to rate in our data. That means we don't have solid research backing its use for any of these purposes right now.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Cinnamon is generally well tolerated at food amounts. At supplement doses like this one, there's concern about liver damage from its coumarin content over extended use, particularly at very high doses.
In trials, doses of 360 mg to 12 grams daily for three months didn't significantly raise liver enzymes, but you should be cautious with long-term use. A rash and one case of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) seizure have been reported in trials, though the seizure's link to cinnamon isn't clear.
If you have a documented allergy to cinnamic alcohol, cinnamon can trigger contact dermatitis (skin inflammation).
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist before taking this if you use antidiabetes drugs (blood sugar medications) or any hepatotoxic drugs — medications that can stress the liver. Cinnamon at these doses may lower blood sugar or add to liver strain.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a high-dose cinnamon supplement. If you take diabetes medications or drugs that can affect your liver, talk to your pharmacist before starting — cinnamon may strengthen their effects.
For general use as a food-amount supplement, it's well tolerated, but we don't have solid evidence it works for the conditions it's marketed for.

Super Strength Cinnamon 2000 mg by Simply Supplements Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Super Strength Cinnamon 2000 mg by Simply Supplements contains cassia cinnamon, which has two documented interaction types.

Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Cinnamon may also lower blood sugar levels and could have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs (medications you take for diabetes). This means your blood sugar might drop further than expected, and your diabetes medicine dose might need adjusting.
Altogether, these interactions span 425 individual medications.

Cinnamon
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, cassia cinnamon may have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels, and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, large doses of cassia cinnamon might cause additive effects when used with hepatotoxic drugs.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
