Lipo GABA Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Lipo GABA against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Lipo GABA by Renue By Science
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Lipo GABA contains one active ingredient: GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a compound your brain naturally produces to help with relaxation and sleep. The capsule also holds several inactive ingredients—cellulose, sunflower lecithin, rice flour, and microcrystalline cellulose—which are fillers and binders that help deliver the active ingredient.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence supporting GABA supplements isn't established yet. Our data shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for the uses it's marketed for—anxiety, ADHD, athletic performance, chronic bronchitis, and cerebral palsy.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work; it means we don't have enough solid research to say either way. If you're considering GABA for a specific condition, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about what the current evidence actually supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
GABA is generally well tolerated in the short term when taken by mouth. The most common side effects reported include drowsiness, gastric upset, minor throat burning, muscle weakness, and nausea.
However, long-term safety hasn't been well studied, so we don't know how it holds up with extended use. There isn't enough safety information to recommend GABA while breastfeeding—talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Lipo GABA, check your medications—especially blood pressure drugs (the main concern here) and any sedatives, sleep aids, or other central nervous system depressants. Altogether, these interactions span 417 individual medications.
Use the search tool on this page to verify your exact prescriptions.
The bottom line

Lipo GABA by Renue By Science Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Lipo GABA by Renue By Science contains a single active ingredient—GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid)—that has documented interactions with medications that lower blood pressure and drugs that slow the central nervous system.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The most serious concern is with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives). GABA can lower blood pressure, so taking it alongside these drugs might increase the risk of blood pressure dropping too low (hypotension).
This is a Moderate-severity interaction.
GABA also has a Minor interaction with central nervous system depressants—drugs like sedatives, sleep aids, and some pain relievers. Theoretically, GABA might add to their sedative effects, though it's not clear how clinically relevant this concern is in real-world use.
Although we've flagged these drug types, the specific medications you take matter. Run your exact prescriptions through the checker below before starting this product.

Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking GABA with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Some clinical research shows that GABA can decrease blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, GABA might have additive sedative effects when used in conjunction with CNS depressants. However, it is unclear if this concern is clinically relevant.
Endogenous GABA has well-established relaxant effects and GABA(A) receptors have an established physiological role in sleep. However, the effects of GABA supplements are unclear, as it is unknown whether exogenous GABA crosses the blood-brain barrier. Although there have been limited reports of drowsiness or tiredness with GABA supplements, these effects have not been widely reported in clinical studies. Additionally, intravenous GABA 0.1-1 mg/kg has been shown to induce anxiety in a dose-dependent manner.
