Liver Fit Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Liver Fit against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Liver Fit by Physician's Signature
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Liver Fit contains three active probiotic ingredients: Lactobacillus fermentum SD-5847, Lactobacillus acidophilus SD-5212, and Lactobacillus casei casei SD-5842 — all live, beneficial bacteria meant to support digestive health. The product is made up in a capsule with inactive ingredients including microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide, which are typical fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence we have is for Lactobacillus acidophilus SD-5212 alone. It's rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
For atopic disease (allergic conditions), the data suggest it may be ineffective. There isn't enough reliable evidence to rate it for acute respiratory distress syndrome.
We don't have effectiveness data on file for the other two probiotic strains in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. However, since it contains live organisms, there's a theoretical risk — very rare — of infection in certain patients, including cases of bacteremia, sepsis, and other serious infections, usually when the bacteria move from their normal location in the gut.
Gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, and diarrhea can occur when you combine probiotics, but these are uncommon. A small number of trial participants using a similar probiotic blend reported rash and itching, though it's unclear whether L. acidophilus was the cause.
No pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data are on file for any ingredient in this product — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, separate them from this product — the antibiotics can reduce how well the probiotic works. Two of the three probiotic strains in Liver Fit haven't been checked for interactions with medications, so run your exact prescriptions through the search tool on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Liver Fit is a multi-strain probiotic that may help with digestive issues like IBS or antibiotic-associated diarrhea if the acidophilus strain is effective for you. If you take antibiotics, space them apart from this product.
Check your medications with the tool on this page before starting — one of the ingredients we can verify interacts with antibiotics. If you have a weakened immune system or other health concerns, ask your pharmacist first.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
