Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Maxi 7M Supreme has 3 active ingredients: two live-culture probiotics and a type of fiber. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are beneficial bacteria meant to support your gut health and digestion.
Apple Pectin is a soluble fiber extracted from apples. The product also contains several inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, cellulose, magnesium stearate, calcium carbonate, silica, and a blend of digestive enzymes (bromelain, papain, lipase, amylase, and protease) — which serve as fillers, binders, and capsule materials.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The live probiotics in this formula have been studied for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and are rated possibly effective for that condition. Lactobacillus acidophilus is also possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea, bacterial vaginosis, and Helicobacter pylori infection.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for respiratory tract infections. Apple Pectin is possibly effective for high cholesterol.
For other uses listed — hay fever, anxiety, Alzheimer's disease, prediabetes, and radiation exposure — the evidence we hold is either insufficient or shows the ingredients may be ineffective.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, though they should be used with caution in people with weakened immune systems. Both can cause mild gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, gas, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, but these are uncommon.
Apple Pectin is well tolerated overall; the most common side effects are gas, loose stools, mild cramps, and diarrhea. Rarely, pectin can trigger allergic reactions including anaphylaxis in sensitive individuals.
Pregnancy and lactation safety data are limited — pectin is likely safe in food amounts but concentrated supplements haven't been well studied; the probiotics are rated possibly safe in pregnancy but data on lactation is not on file. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Maxi 7M Supreme, double-check if you're on antibiotic drugs (Moderate interaction — space out your doses), lovastatin (Moderate), tetracycline antibiotics (Moderate), or digoxin (Moderate). The probiotics can be killed by antibiotics if you take them together, and pectin can reduce how much of these other drugs your body absorbs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Maxi 7M Supreme is a multi-ingredient probiotic and fiber blend that may help with IBS, antibiotic-related diarrhea, or cholesterol — but it interacts with antibiotics, lovastatin, tetracycline, and digoxin. If you take any of those medications or have a weakened immune system, check with your pharmacist first.
Otherwise, it's generally well tolerated, though mild digestive side effects can occur as your gut adjusts.

Maxi 7M Supreme by Maxi Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Maxi 7M Supreme by Maxi Health contains three live probiotic ingredients, and they do interact with some medications.
The most serious concern is with antibiotic drugs — both Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are live organisms that antibiotics can kill, which would reduce how well the probiotics work. This is a Moderate interaction, and it means you'll want to space out when you take your antibiotics and this supplement.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Apple Pectin in this product also interacts with several medications. It may reduce how well your body absorbs lovastatin (a cholesterol drug), tetracycline antibiotics, and digoxin (a heart medication) — all Moderate interactions.
Pectin can bind to these drugs in your digestive tract and lower how much gets into your bloodstream.
Altogether, these interactions span 188 individual medications. Before you start Maxi 7M Supreme, run your current prescriptions through the medication checker on this page so we can flag any specific conflicts with what you're taking.

For each ingredient in Maxi 7M Supreme with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium bifidum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Apple Pectin
Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, pectin might reduce the absorption of digoxin, potentially decreasing its effectiveness.
A small clinical study shows that taking digoxin with a kaolin-pectin suspension reduces the absorption of digoxin by about 62%. It is unclear if these effects are due to pectin, kaolin, or the combination.
Lovastatin (Mevacor)
Theoretically, pectin might reduce the absorption of lovastatin, potentially decreasing its effectiveness.
Case reports suggest that concomitant use of pectin and lovastatin might reduce the cholesterol-lowering effect of lovastatin, possibly due to reduced intestinal absorption of lovastatin.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
Theoretically, pectin might reduce the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics, potentially decreasing their effectiveness.
A small clinical study shows that taking tetracycline with bismuth subsalicylate in a kaolin-pectin suspension reduces the absorption of tetracycline by about 34%. It is unclear if these effects are due to pectin, kaolin, bismuth subsalicylate, or the combination.
