MoveMD Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by 1MD
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking MoveMD against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
MoveMD contains five active ingredients. Hyaluronic acid is a compound that helps skin and joints hold water.
Type X.I.V and Type II Chicken Collagen are structural proteins meant to support joint and connective tissue health. ApresFLEX is frankincense, a resin extract traditionally used in joint and skin care.
Zanthin natural Astaxanthin is a carotenoid antioxidant derived from algae. The capsule also contains four inactive ingredients: organic vegetable oil powder, silica, whey protein isolate, and vegetable cellulose capsule material.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for MoveMD's ingredients is limited. Hyaluronic acid is possibly effective for dry eye and venous leg ulcers (slow-healing leg wounds), but there isn't enough reliable evidence to rate it for aging skin, hay fever, or sexual dysfunction.
For frankincense (ApresFLEX), astaxanthin, and the collagen types, the data we hold shows insufficient evidence to rate their effectiveness for any of the conditions they're promoted for — including acne, aging skin, back pain, cognitive decline, and athletic performance. That doesn't mean they don't work; it means the evidence isn't established in our current data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Hyaluronic acid and astaxanthin are generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety data are limited for both. Hyaluronic acid applied topically has rarely caused eczema, itching, and skin irritation; taken orally, eye drops containing it have rarely caused eye pain.
Astaxanthin may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, or red-colored stools — a small number of trial participants experienced these at standard doses, and higher doses (40 mg daily) have caused severe stomach pain in rare cases. Frankincense is also generally well tolerated topically and by inhalation, though dermatitis and itching occur occasionally, and rare allergic skin reactions have been reported.
We hold no safety data for the two collagen types. Because astaxanthin and frankincense have not been studied enough during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the safety data advise against their use in those periods.
There isn't enough data on file to advise about hyaluronic acid or collagen types during pregnancy or breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking MoveMD, check whether you take any medications processed by the liver enzymes CYP3A4 or CYP2B6 — astaxanthin may decrease their levels and reduce their effect. This includes many heart medications, blood pressure drugs, statins, and immunosuppressants.
Use the interaction checker below with your exact medication list and confirm with your doctor or pharmacist.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
MoveMD may appeal to people looking to support joint and skin health, but the evidence backing most of its ingredients is weak or absent. The biggest concern is its astaxanthin content, which may slow how your body clears certain common medications — especially heart, blood pressure, and immunosuppressant drugs.
If you take any regular medications, check them against the interaction tool on this page, and confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before starting. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your healthcare provider first.

MoveMD by 1MD Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
MoveMD by 1MD interacts with medications through its astaxanthin content.
Astaxanthin may decrease blood levels of drugs metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 (a Moderate interaction), potentially making them less effective. It may also decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2B6 (also Moderate).
Both of these effects have been seen in the lab but not yet reported in people.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Altogether, these interactions span 672 individual medications. The other checked ingredients — hyaluronic acid and frankincense — have no known interactions documented in our data.
We could not check Type X.I.V Eggshell Membrane Collagen or Type II Chicken Collagen; no interaction data is on file for them.
Because astaxanthin may speed up how your liver clears certain drugs, it's important to review your exact medications before starting this product. Use the interaction checker on this page, and if you take any medications metabolized by CYP3A4 or CYP2B6 — which include a wide range of heart, blood pressure, cholesterol, and immunosuppressant drugs — talk to your doctor or pharmacist before adding MoveMD.
