What’s inside

Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 3 active ingredients.
  • “Arabinoxylane Compound Proprietary Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (1,000 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

Noxylane4 Double Strength has 3 active ingredients: rice bran, HAI Amino Acid Extract, an arabinoxylane proprietary blend, and a hyphomycetes mycelia enzyme. The product also contains inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid, silica, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, and polyethylene glycol — which are fillers and binders.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

We hold no graded evidence for this product's ingredients for its stated purpose.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: immune defense.
  • We looked for evidence on: immune function, infection prevention, immune response.
  • Our graded evidence for these ingredients doesn't cover that particular purpose.

Rice bran is possibly effective for dyslipidemia (abnormal blood fat levels). The evidence is less clear for other uses: it is rated possibly ineffective for colorectal cancer prevention, and there is insufficient evidence to rate it for alopecia areata (patchy hair loss).

We hold no effectiveness data for the other ingredients in this product.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Orally, rice bran is generally well tolerated. The main concern is digestive: increasing dietary bran can cause temporary abdominal discomfort, bloating, and irregular bowel habits, especially in the first few weeks.

Allergic reactions are rare but can occur — urticaria (hives), itching, swelling, wheezing, and cough have been reported; in very rare cases, anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction) has happened after consuming large amounts. Rice bran is rated likely safe in pregnancy and lactation.

We hold no safety data for HAI Amino Acid Extract, the arabinoxylane blend components, or Hyphomycetes mycelia enzyme, and safety information on concentrated supplement doses of rice bran is limited, so talk with your doctor before starting if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of food allergies.

No known interactions
Known Interaction Concern · database check
No known interactions

No medication interactions are currently documented for the matched ingredients — that isn't a guarantee none exist.

Why this rating?
  • None of the 1 matched ingredient has a documented medication interaction on file.

No interactions are documented in our data for the ingredients we could check. However, we hold no interaction information for HAI Amino Acid Extract, the arabinoxylane blend, or Hyphomycetes mycelia enzyme, so double-check your exact medications with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.

Noxylane4 Double Strength may be worth considering if you're looking to support healthy blood fat levels — rice bran has some evidence for that. Watch out for digestive upset and rare allergic reactions, especially if you have a known rice allergy.

Because we couldn't check all the ingredients and supplement-dose safety data is sparse, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Antidiabetes Drugs

Evidence from human research suggests that an arabinoxylan-rich fiber can reduce postprandial glucose levels. Theoretically, arabinoxylan might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.
