HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Probiotic 40 Billion CFU by Evlution Nutrition
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 4 active probiotic ingredients: two Lactobacillus species (L. plantarum and L. acidophilus), Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, and Bacillus coagulans (marketed as ProDURA). Together they deliver 40 billion colony-forming units (CFU)—live microorganisms meant to support your gut.
The inactive ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, and silica, which are common capsule fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
For Lactobacillus acidophilus, the evidence is "possibly effective" for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. For Bacillus coagulans (ProDURA), it's "possibly effective" for constipation and IBS.
For other conditions listed in the research—like acute respiratory distress syndrome or athletic performance—the data we hold either don't show clear benefit or aren't established enough to rate. Your own results will depend on your specific condition and how your body responds.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Bacillus coagulans is also generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though product quality and safety evidence vary.
Both probiotic ingredients are live microorganisms, so there is a theoretical concern—mainly in severely ill or immunocompromised patients—that they could cause infection if they spread beyond the gut. In healthy people with normal immune systems, this risk is very low.
Uncommon oral side effects from probiotics include stomach discomfort, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and nausea; a small number of trial participants taking a probiotic blend experienced rash and itching, though it's unclear whether L. acidophilus was responsible. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you have a weakened immune system, have central venous catheters, or are critically ill.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the main medication type to watch—they may reduce the effectiveness of the live cultures in this product if taken at the same time. Your doctor or pharmacist can help you space out doses to avoid this interaction.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is built for gut support—most likely for IBS or diarrhea linked to antibiotics or other causes. If you're in good health and not on antibiotics, probiotics are generally well tolerated.
However, if you take antibiotic medications or have a weakened immune system, check with your doctor or pharmacist first before adding this product. Run your full medication list through our interaction checker on this page.

Probiotic 40 Billion CFU by Evlution Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Probiotic 40 Billion CFU by Evlution Nutrition contains two checked ingredients—Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bacillus coagulans (ProDURA)—that both interact with antibiotic drugs.
The most serious concern is Moderate severity: taking this probiotic with antibiotics at the same time may reduce how well the probiotic works, because the antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the product. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Both ingredients carry the same antibiotic interaction. The live and active cultures in this product are sensitive to antibiotics, so if you're on antibiotic therapy, you'll want to separate when you take them—your doctor or pharmacist can advise you on timing.
We could not check two other ingredients in the blend: Lactobacillus plantarum and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis. Use the medication checker below to see if any of your prescriptions fall into the antibiotic category, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining this product with your current medications.
