What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Reishi Mushroom against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: organic Reishi Mushroom, a liquid extract. Reishi is a fungus used in traditional medicine and studied for various health effects.
The liquid also contains deionized water and grain alcohol as inactive ingredients to preserve and deliver the reishi.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
Evidence for reishi's effectiveness is limited. It is rated Possibly Ineffective for high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia).
For altitude sickness, Alzheimer disease, and athletic performance, there is Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate — meaning the science doesn't yet support or refute claims about whether it works for these uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Reishi mushroom is generally well tolerated in the short term, but long-term safety has not been well studied. The most common side effects from oral use are dizziness, dry mouth, itching, nausea, rash, and stomach upset.
Some people report respiratory allergy to reishi spores, with sore throat or runny nose, and rarely, insomnia or headache may occur. There is not enough safety data to recommend reishi during pregnancy or while breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check your medications with a healthcare provider if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (Moderate risk of increased bleeding, especially at higher doses), blood pressure medications (Moderate risk of blood pressure dropping too low), or diabetes drugs (Moderate risk of low blood sugar effects stacking). Make sure your exact medications are cleared by your own doctor or pharmacist.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Reishi may be worth considering if you're interested in traditional mushroom supplements and don't take blood thinners, blood pressure medication, or diabetes drugs. If you do take any of those, or any prescription medication, check with your own doctor or pharmacist before adding this product.
Long-term safety data is sparse, so this is best as a short-term trial under professional guidance.

Reishi Mushroom by BIOVEA Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
BIOVEA's Reishi Mushroom can interact with several classes of medications.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners (anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs) — at higher doses, reishi may increase bleeding risk, though a lower 1.5-gram daily dose does not appear to affect how platelets clump together.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Blood pressure medications (antihypertensives) and diabetes drugs are also affected at Moderate severity. Reishi has shown blood pressure-lowering effects in some people, so combining it with blood pressure medication could push your pressure too low.
For diabetes, animal research suggests reishi lowers blood sugar, but human studies in type 2 diabetes show mixed or no effect on fasting glucose — still, there's a theoretical additive risk if you're on diabetes medication.
Altogether, these interactions span 375 individual medications. Before starting this product, check your exact medications with the search tool on this page or run them by your own doctor or pharmacist.

organic Reishi Mushroom
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, high doses of reishi mushroom might increase the risk of bleeding.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, reishi mushroom might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research suggests that reishi mushroom decreases blood sugar. However, in patients with type 2 diabetes, taking reishi mushroom does not reduce fasting glucose levels, and its effects on glycated hemoglobin are inconsistent.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, concurrent use of reishi mushroom with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Reishi mushroom has shown hypotensive activity in animal research. Clinical evidence suggests that reishi mushroom reduces blood pressure in some, but not all, patients with hypertension.
