HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Sugar Snagger White Mulberry Leaf Extract by RagTagHealth
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Sugar Snagger contains one active ingredient: mulberry leaf extract, derived from white mulberry. The capsule is filled with vegetable cellulose as an inactive ingredient.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence we hold on mulberry leaf extract for its claimed uses — hair loss (androgenic alopecia), bone health, common cold, blood sugar control, and cholesterol — is not yet established. Each of these carries a rating of insufficient reliable evidence to rate, meaning clinical data in our records isn't robust enough to say whether it works.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Orally, white mulberry leaf is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects are transient bloating, constipation, flatulence, and loose stools.
In one clinical trial, about half the participants experienced bloating or flatulence, a quarter had loose stools, and one in five had constipation — but these effects tended to decrease over the 12-week study, suggesting they may ease with continued use. Safety data during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not sufficient to know either way.
The safety notes advise against medicinal amounts in both settings. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this product, double-check any antidiabetes drugs (blood sugar medications) you're on — white mulberry leaf can lower glucose and raise the risk of low blood sugar. Also check any medications that are OCT2 substrates, particularly metformin, as the extract may slow their clearance from your body.
Use the medication checker on this page with your exact drug names and doses.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This single-ingredient supplement may be worth considering if you're interested in white mulberry leaf, but the evidence for its claimed benefits isn't established in our records. If you take antidiabetes drugs or medications processed through OCT2 in your kidneys, check them against our tool before starting — the interaction risk is real.

Sugar Snagger White Mulberry Leaf Extract by RagTagHealth Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Sugar Snagger White Mulberry Leaf Extract by RagTagHealth contains one active ingredient — mulberry leaf extract — that does interact with medications.
The most serious concern is with antidiabetes drugs (blood sugar medications). White mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels, so taking it alongside your diabetes medication may increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
You'll want to monitor your glucose levels closely if you combine them.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The ingredient also has a moderate interaction with OCT2 substrates — a group of drugs processed through a specific kidney transporter. Animal research shows that white mulberry leaf may slow how your kidneys clear these drugs, potentially raising their levels in your body.
Metformin, a common diabetes medication, is one example.
Altogether, these interactions span 86 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact drugs before you start.

Mulberry leaf extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely.
Organic Cation Transporter 2 (Oct2) Substrates
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might slow the elimination and increase the adverse effects of drugs which are OCT2 substrates.
Animal research shows that coadministration of white mulberry leaf extract with metformin, an OCT2 substrate, slows the renal elimination of metformin via inhibition of OCT2 activity. OCT2 is expressed in the kidneys and is responsible for transporting cationic drugs into tubular epithelial cells in order to be excreted in the urine.
