- What is Cholesterol? Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance needed for certain body functions, but too much is not healthy. ~ Did you know? The liver produces up to 75% of the body’s cholesterol. Food in the daily diet is another source of cholesterol.

The two primary types of cholesterol are: 1) HDL cholesterol, which is “good” because it helps remove cholesterol from the blood.
