What’s inside

Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 0 of its 12 active ingredients.
  • “Bifido Probiotic Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label doesn't break down how much of each component you get.
  • “Lacto Probiotic Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label doesn't break down how much of each component you get.
  • “Everyday Probiotic Culture Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (48 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

This product contains 12 probiotic strains—a mix of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species—packaged in a convenient go-pack capsule. The two strains we have detailed data on are Lactobacillus acidophilus (two separate strains: LA-14 and NCFM) and Bifidobacterium longum (BI-26).

The rest—including Lactobacillus casei, paracasei, brevis, rhamnosus, and plantarum, along with several Bifidobacterium strains—make up the blend but fall outside our current interaction database. The inactive ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, gellan gum, and medium chain triglyceride—standard capsule materials and binders.

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: digestive and immune health support.
  • We looked for evidence on: Antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Bacterial vaginosis, Clostridioides difficile infection, Common cold, Constipation, Diarrhea — and 4 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Lactobacillus Acidophilus is rated "Possibly Effective" for Antibiotic-associated diarrhea (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Lactobacillus Acidophilus is rated "Possibly Effective" for Bacterial vaginosis, Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
  • Also on file: Lactobacillus Acidophilus is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Respiratory tract infections, Constipation, Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Radiation-induced diarrhea.

The Lactobacillus acidophilus strains in this product are possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. They're rated possibly ineffective for atopic disease (allergic conditions) and insufficient evidence exists for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

For Bifidobacterium longum, the data we hold shows insufficient evidence to rate it for age-related cognitive decline, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), antibiotic-associated diarrhea, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), asthma, and athletic performance. We have no effectiveness ratings on file for the other ten strains in this blend.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 2 of the 2 matched ingredients.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. When taken by mouth with other probiotics, uncommon gastrointestinal side effects may occur—epigastric discomfort, abdominal pain, indigestion, gas, bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, and burping.

In rare cases, L. acidophilus has been found in the bloodstream or involved in serious infections like sepsis or endocarditis, though this typically happens when bacteria from the gut naturally translocate in people with underlying conditions. Bifidobacterium longum is generally well tolerated in healthy people but caution is needed if you're seriously ill or immune-compromised.

Rare gastrointestinal side effects include abdominal discomfort, pain, bloating, gas, constipation, and one reported case of dry cough. Like L. acidophilus, rare cases of Bifidobacterium bacteremia have occurred, particularly in preterm infants.

Bifidobacterium longum is rated possibly safe in pregnancy and lactation. Pregnancy and lactation data aren't on file for the other strains.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 2 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium Longum.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 182 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take antibiotic drugs, check your specific medication on this page before adding this probiotic. Antibiotics may reduce the effectiveness of the live organisms—Moderate-severity concern.

We hold no interaction data for ten of the twelve strains in this blend, so run your full medication list through our search tool to be thorough.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

This blend is designed for daily digestive support and is generally well tolerated by healthy adults. If you're taking antibiotics, separate your doses from this probiotic by a few hours—antibiotics kill the live cultures.

If you're seriously ill, immune-compromised, or pregnant, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

Ultimate Flora Everyday Go-Pack Probiotic 15 Billion by Renew Life: Common Questions

Does Ultimate Flora Everyday Go-Pack Probiotic 15 Billion by Renew Life interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Ultimate Flora Everyday Go-Pack Probiotic 15 Billion has a known interaction with 182 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Ultimate Flora Everyday Go-Pack Probiotic 15 Billion contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Will this probiotic work with my antibiotic?
Antibiotics can kill the live bacteria in probiotics if you take them at the same time, so they won't work as well together. Space them out by a few hours—take your antibiotic, then this probiotic later (or vice versa). Check your specific antibiotic with our tool to confirm it's one of the ones that interacts.
Can I take this while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Bifidobacterium longum is rated possibly safe during pregnancy and lactation, but we don't have safety data on file for the other eleven strains in this blend. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you during pregnancy or while nursing.
What's this probiotic supposed to do?
The Lactobacillus acidophilus strains are possibly effective for IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, H. pylori infection, and bacterial vaginosis. The Bifidobacterium and other Lactobacillus strains don't have established effectiveness in our data for most conditions, though research continues.
Will it cause side effects?
It's generally well tolerated, but some people experience mild gastrointestinal side effects like gas, bloating, or loose stools when they first start—these are uncommon. If you have a serious illness or weakened immunity, talk with your doctor first.
What are all these different probiotic strains?
This blend has two types of beneficial bacteria: Lactobacillus species and Bifidobacterium species. Different strains are thought to support different parts of your digestive and immune health, so the blend gives you variety—but we have detailed evidence only for two of the twelve strains.
