Acetaminophen, Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, strongly inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo: the hydrocodone in your Norco or Vicodin is actually a prodrug. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to convert part of it into hydromorphone, which adds to the pain-relieving punch. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and in lab tests BMPEA blocks that same CYP2D6 enzyme.

If that enzyme is slowed down, you may convert less hydrocodone, which could mean weaker pain relief. I'll be honest though, this is only based on test-tube data, not real people, so it's more of a theoretical concern. The bigger worry is that these products are unreliable and sometimes contain hidden stimulants. Please check with your pharmacist before mixing them.

Acetaminophen, Hydrocodone also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist with Acacia rigidula and your Vicodin or Norco (acetaminophen plus hydrocodone). Some of these supplements have been found spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and lab testing suggests BMPEA can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Your body uses that same enzyme to help process the hydrocodone part. If it's slowed, hydrocodone could build up a bit more than expected, which in theory could mean more drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing.

I want to be honest that this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube studies, not proven in people. Still, adding an unpredictable stimulant on top of an opioid isn't something I'd take lightly. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.
