Desvenlafaxine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, strongly inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme.

Here's the gist with Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) and Acacia rigidula. Some of these supplements have been found spiked with a hidden stimulant called BMPEA. In lab studies, BMPEA blocks an enzyme called CYP2D6, which is one of the pathways your body uses to clear desvenlafaxine. If that pathway slows down, the drug could build up a bit and you might notice more of its usual effects, like jitteriness, a faster heartbeat, headache, trouble sleeping, sweating, or nausea.

On top of that, BMPEA acts as a stimulant of its own, and desvenlafaxine already raises norepinephrine, so stacking them is a real concern. This is based on lab data only, not people, but I'd skip the Acacia product and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Desvenlafaxine extended-release tablets — sold under brand names including Pristiq, Desvenlafaxine ER, Desvenlafaxine Succinate, and others — are approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults.

This medication is not approved for use in children or adolescents. Its effectiveness was studied in clinical trials of adult outpatients who met standard diagnostic criteria for MDD.
