Eszopiclone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the quick version with Lunesta (eszopiclone): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break this sleep medicine down and clear it out. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found to contain a hidden stimulant called BMPEA, and lab studies suggest BMPEA can partly block that same enzyme. If the enzyme is slowed, eszopiclone could linger longer in your system, which may lead to stronger effects like next-morning grogginess, dizziness, trouble concentrating, or feeling unsteady on your feet.

I'll be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based only on test-tube research, not real patients, so the practical risk is uncertain. Still, mixing a stimulant supplement with a sleep aid is a strange combo on its own. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using both.

What Is Eszopiclone Used For?

Brand name: Lunesta

Eszopiclone tablets — sold under the brand name Lunesta and as generics — are indicated for the treatment of insomnia. In clinical studies, eszopiclone helped people fall asleep more quickly (reduced sleep latency) and stay asleep through the night (improved sleep maintenance).

Clinical trials supporting its effectiveness lasted up to 6 months in adults and up to 2 weeks in elderly patients. Lunesta and eszopiclone generics are approved for this same indication across the available tablet formulations.
