Palbociclib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist with Ibrance (palbociclib): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear this medicine out. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found to contain a hidden stimulant (BMPEA) that, in lab dish studies, slowed that same enzyme by about a third. If that happened in a person, palbociclib could build up higher than intended, which may mean more of its typical side effects, things like low white blood cell counts (and a higher infection risk), fatigue, nausea, mouth sores, or hair thinning.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, based only on test-tube work, not real patients. Still, with a cancer drug I'd play it safe. Please run any Acacia rigidula product by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

About Palbociclib

What Is Palbociclib Used For?

Brand name: Ibrance

Palbociclib (brand name Ibrance) is used to treat adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. It is always given in combination with other medicines — either an aromatase inhibitor as a first hormonal treatment, or with fulvestrant after the cancer has progressed on prior hormonal therapy. It is also used with inavolisib and fulvestrant for a specific subtype (PIK3CA-mutated, endocrine-resistant) of this cancer confirmed by an FDA-authorized test.

Ibrance is also approved in combination with trastuzumab (with or without pertuzumab) and endocrine therapy for maintenance treatment of adults with HR-positive, HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, following initial induction treatment.
