Selinexor falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist for Selinexor (Xpovio). Your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this cancer medicine. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a hidden stimulant called BMPEA, and in lab testing BMPEA slowed that enzyme down by about a third. In theory, that could let Selinexor build up a bit more than expected.

Selinexor already tends to cause rough side effects like nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, tiredness, and low blood counts, so anything that nudges its levels up could make those worse. This is only a theoretical, lab-based concern, not proven in people. Still, with a serious chemo drug like this, please don't add any Acacia rigidula product without first checking with your oncology team or pharmacist.

What Is Selinexor Used For?

Brand name: Xpovio

Xpovio (selinexor) is used to treat multiple myeloma in adults. When used together with bortezomib and dexamethasone, it is for adults who have had at least one prior treatment. This combination is sometimes called XVd.

Xpovio is also used with dexamethasone alone (called Xd) for adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma — meaning the cancer came back or stopped responding — who have already tried at least four prior therapies and whose disease no longer responds to several other standard drug types.
