Trazodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, strongly inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme.

Here's the gist with this pairing. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear trazodone out of your system. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and lab studies suggest BMPEA can block that very enzyme. If it's blocked, trazodone may not break down as quickly and could build up to higher levels than expected.

In real life, that could mean more of trazodone's usual effects, like heavy drowsiness, dizziness, low blood pressure when you stand up, or feeling groggy. I want to be honest though: this is based only on test-tube research, not on real patients, so it's more of a theoretical concern. Still, since Acacia rigidula itself raises safety flags, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Here's the gist for trazodone: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down and clear it out. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found to be spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and lab studies suggest BMPEA can slow that enzyme down a bit. If trazodone clears more slowly, more of it can hang around, which could nudge up side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, low blood pressure, or a groggy hungover feeling the next morning.

I'll be honest though, this is only test-tube evidence, so it's theoretical and not proven in people. The bigger worry is the stimulant itself mixing with a medication that affects serotonin. Please don't change anything on your own, just check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
