Ziprasidone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist for Geodon (ziprasidone). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this medicine. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and in lab dish studies that ingredient slowed CYP3A4 by about a third. If that happened in your body, ziprasidone could clear more slowly and build up, meaning stronger effects like drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling lightheaded.

The bigger worry with ziprasidone is its effect on heart rhythm (QT prolongation), and a stimulant on top of that isn't a great mix. To be fair, this is only theoretical lab evidence, not proven in people. Still, with a heart-rhythm drug like this, I'd steer clear and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Ziprasidone Used For?

Ziprasidone is prescribed for adults with schizophrenia and for adults experiencing manic or mixed episodes of bipolar I disorder. It can be used on its own for acute manic or mixed episodes, or added to lithium or valproate to help maintain stability in bipolar I disorder long-term.

An injectable form is also available for rapid control of agitation in people with schizophrenia who need quick relief. Prescribers are advised to weigh ziprasidone's potential effect on heart rhythm when choosing among treatment options.
