Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Sotagliflozin
Sotagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Berberine interacts with.
Clinical research shows that berberine may lower blood glucose levels. Theoretically, berberine might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: berberine can gently push your blood sugar down on its own, and Sotagliflozin (Inpefa) is already working to lower it too. Stack the two together and those effects can add up, so your sugar could dip lower than you want. That's what we call hypoglycemia, and it can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or feeling foggy.
I want to be honest about the evidence though. This concern is theoretical, based on how berberine behaves rather than strong studies with this exact drug, so many people won't notice a problem. Still, it's smart to keep an eye on your readings and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before adding berberine. Please don't change your Sotagliflozin on your own.

“If you take sotagliflozin (Inpefa) for heart failure or diabetes, read this list carefully before adding any supplement, and start with the two rated major. Siberian cocklebur has caused severe low blood sugar in humans, and activated charcoal can pull the drug out of your system before it does its job.”
