Pivmecillinam falls under ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS — the group Bifidobacterium Bifidum interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.

Here's the simple version: Pivmecillinam is an antibiotic, and like any antibiotic, it doesn't know the difference between unwanted bacteria and the 'friendly' bacteria in your probiotic. So if you swallow your Bifidobacterium bifidum capsule at the same time as your Pivmecillinam, the antibiotic can kill off a good chunk of those live probiotic organisms before they ever get to do their job. This goes one direction only: it makes the probiotic less effective. It does not weaken your antibiotic, and it won't change how well Pivmecillinam treats your infection.

This is a theoretical concern based on how these two work, not a dangerous one. An easy fix is to space them out by at least 2 hours. If you'd like, your pharmacist can help you set up a simple schedule.
