Glipizide, Metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Bilberry interacts with.

Theoretically, bilberry leaf or fruit extract may increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research suggests that bilberry leaf extract might have blood glucose-lowering activity. Also, one small clinical trial in patients with type 2 diabetes shows that taking bilberry fruit extract 470 mg as a single dose prior to an oral glucose tolerance test lowers plasma glucose levels when compared with placebo.

Here's the simple version: your Metaglip combines two diabetes medicines, and the glipizide part actively pushes your pancreas to release more insulin, which lowers blood sugar. Bilberry, especially concentrated leaf or fruit extracts, may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. Stack the two together and there's a chance your numbers could dip too low.

If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or unusually hungry. I'll be honest though, this concern comes mostly from animal studies and one small human test, so the evidence is thin. Eating bilberries as food is very unlikely to matter. If you want to try a supplement dose, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your readings.
