Famotidine, Ibuprofen falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Bishop's Weed interacts with.

Bishop's weed constituents seem to cause photosensitivity. Theoretically, concomitant use of bishop's weed with photosensitizing drugs might result in increased photosensitivity.
Some drugs that cause photosensitivity include amitriptyline (Elavil), quinolones (Ciprofloxacin, others), sulfa drugs (Septra, Bactrim, others), and tetracycline.

Here's the simple version: Bishop's Weed contains natural compounds called psoralens that make your skin much more sensitive to sunlight. Duexis combines famotidine (an acid reducer) with ibuprofen (an NSAID), and ibuprofen on its own can already make some people a bit more prone to sunburn. Put the two together and, in theory, you might burn faster or get a rash more easily after time outdoors.

This isn't a deep chemical clash inside your body where one changes the other's levels. It's more of an additive effect on your skin. The evidence here is mostly anecdotal, so don't panic, but it's worth being smart about sun protection. If you're considering Bishop's Weed, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Bergapten, a constituent of bishop's weed, has antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, bishop's weed might have additive effects with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs and possibly increase the risk of bleeding.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing with Duexis, which pairs ibuprofen (an NSAID) with famotidine (an acid reducer that's there to protect your stomach). Ibuprofen already has a mild blood-thinning effect because it dampens how your platelets stick together. Bishop's Weed contains a compound called bergapten that, at least on paper, may also slow platelets down. So stacking the two could theoretically nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not solid human studies. Still, watch for signs like easy bruising, nosebleeds, dark or bloody stools, or stomach pain. Since Bishop's Weed isn't safe to self-dose anyway, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Bishop's Weed (Ammi majus) is a flowering plant whose seeds contain natural light-sensitizing compounds called psoralens, which have been studied mainly for skin conditions like vitiligo and psoriasis when combined with light therapy. The plant is potentially toxic and can cause severe skin and eye reactions when exposed to sunlight, so it is not something to take on your own. If you are interested in psoralen-based treatments, work with a dermatologist rather than self-treating.
