Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Warfarin
Warfarin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Black Hoof Mushroom interacts with.
In vitro, polysaccharides from black hoof mushroom grown in culture inhibit CYP1A2. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with warfarin. In test tube studies, compounds in black hoof mushroom slowed down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which is one of the pathways that helps clear warfarin. If that enzyme is blocked, warfarin could in theory linger longer and build up, which means your blood could get thinned more than intended. That could show up as easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or blood in your urine or stool.
I want to be honest about how shaky this is. This came from lab work only, and it hasn't actually been seen in people. Still, warfarin is a drug where small shifts can matter a lot, so don't add this mushroom without checking with your doctor or pharmacist first. They may want to watch your INR a bit more closely if you do.

About Warfarin
What Is Warfarin Used For?
Brand name: Warfarin
Warfarin helps prevent and treat harmful blood clots. The label lists these uses for both Warfarin Sodium tablets and Jantoven tablets:
- Preventing and treating venous thrombosis (clots in the veins) and pulmonary embolism (clots in the lungs).
- Preventing and treating clot-related complications of atrial fibrillation and/or heart valve replacement.
- Lowering the risk of death, another heart attack, and clot-related events such as stroke after a heart attack.
Warfarin does not dissolve a clot that has already formed. It helps stop the clot from growing and prevents further clot-related complications.
