Black Hoof Mushroom + Propranolol
Propranolol brand names: Inderal LA, Inderal, Angilol, Syprol, Inderal Injection, and others.
Black Hoof Mushroom has a moderate interaction with Propranolol. Theoretically, black hoof mushroom might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Propranolol
Propranolol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Black Hoof Mushroom interacts with.
In vitro, polysaccharides from black hoof mushroom grown in culture inhibit CYP1A2. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the short version: your body uses an enzyme called CYP1A2 to help clear propranolol out of your system. In lab dish studies, compounds from black hoof mushroom seemed to slow that enzyme down. If that were to happen in real life, propranolol could build up a bit more than usual, which might lead to stronger effects like a slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, lightheadedness, or feeling unusually tired.
But I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. This has only been seen in a test tube, never in actual people, so it's mostly theoretical. I wouldn't panic over it. Still, since propranolol works on your heart and blood pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two, especially so they can keep an eye on how you feel.

- Immune system support
- Antioxidant support
- General wellness
- Traditional cancer-supportive use
- Inflammation
Black Hoof Mushroom (Phellinus linteus) is a medicinal mushroom long used in East Asian traditional medicine, mainly for immune support. Brand names: Inderal LA, Inderal, Angilol, Syprol, Inderal Injection, Half-Inderal LA, Bedranol SR, Half Beta Prograne, Beta Prograne, Lopranol LA, Slo-Pro, InnoPran XL
This intravenous (IV) form of propranolol is used in hospital or clinical settings to treat dangerous heart rhythm problems. It is generally reserved for life-threatening arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) or those that occur during anesthesia.
Specific conditions it treats include fast heart rates coming from the upper chambers of the heart (supraventricular tachycardia), certain arrhythmias caused by digitalis toxicity, dangerous ventricular rhythms that haven't responded to other treatments, and fast heart rates caused by excess adrenaline-like substances during surgery.

Propranolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Propranolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Black Hoof Mushroom — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
