Chlorpheniramine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Black Seed interacts with.

Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with black seed might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders.
Animal research suggests that black seed can increase brain serotonin levels. In one case report, a 35-year-old man undergoing endoscopic surgery experienced immediate postoperative serotonin syndrome that was likely associated with the use of black seed oil 600 mg daily starting 4 days before surgery, and precipitated by the use of serotonergic pain medications, including fentanyl and oxycodone. Monitor patients for signs of serotonin syndrome and other serotonergic side effects if using black seed with serotonergic drugs.

Here's the gist: black seed may nudge serotonin levels up a bit, and chlorpheniramine has mild serotonin-related activity of its own. In theory, taking them together could add up and slightly raise the chance of serotonin syndrome, which can show up as agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or feeling confused.

I want to keep this in perspective. The evidence here is thin, mostly animal studies plus one case report in someone also using strong opioids during surgery. For most folks taking chlorpheniramine for allergies or a cold, occasional black seed in food is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated black seed oil supplements are the bigger question mark. If you take both regularly, just check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Chlorpheniramine is used to temporarily relieve common allergy symptoms caused by hay fever (allergic rhinitis) or other upper respiratory allergies. These include runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.

These uses are supported across multiple products — including tablets (such as Aller-chlor, Allergy, Allergy Relief, Allergy Time, Anti Allergy, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate), extended-release tablets (Allergy Relief and Chlorphen-12), the oral solution Ed Chlorped Jr, and the inhalers ClorRelief and ClorRelief KIDs.
