Here's the honest picture with black seed and cisplatin: this is a theoretical concern, not something proven in people. The worry is that black seed can nudge the immune system, and the lab and animal studies actually point in both directions, some show it revving immunity up, others show it calming it down. Because the signal is mixed and only comes from test tubes and animals, no one can say for sure how (or if) it would affect your treatment.

Since cisplatin is serious chemotherapy for testicular, ovarian, and bladder cancers, I'd play it safe. Don't add a black seed supplement during treatment without clearing it with your oncologist first. Food-amount black seed as a spice is far less of a concern than concentrated capsules or oil.

About Cisplatin Injection

What Is Cisplatin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Platinol-AQ

Cisplatin Injection is used to treat three types of cancer. For metastatic testicular tumors and metastatic ovarian tumors, it is used as part of combination chemotherapy — alongside other approved cancer medicines — in patients who have already had surgery and/or radiation therapy. For metastatic ovarian tumors, it can also be used alone as a second-line treatment when standard chemotherapy has stopped working and cisplatin has not been tried before.

For advanced bladder cancer (specifically transitional cell bladder cancer) that can no longer be treated with surgery or radiation, Cisplatin Injection is used as a single agent.
