Here's the situation with Tremfya (guselkumab) and black seed. Guselkumab is a lab-made antibody that calms down a specific part of your immune system to clear up psoriasis and ease psoriatic arthritis. It isn't broken down by liver enzymes like a typical pill, so black seed won't change its blood levels. The concern is different: black seed may nudge your immune system, and the research is genuinely mixed. Some animal and test-tube studies suggest it revs the immune system up, others suggest it dampens it down.

If it stirred your immune system the wrong way, it could in theory work against guselkumab and let your psoriasis flare. But this is theoretical and only from lab and animal data, not real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over an occasional culinary pinch. Before using concentrated black seed capsules or oil alongside Tremfya, just run it past your pharmacist or doctor.

About Guselkumab Injection

What Is Guselkumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tremfya

Tremfya (guselkumab) injection is approved to treat adults and children 6 years of age and older who weigh at least 40 kg (about 88 lbs) with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis or active psoriatic arthritis. It is also approved for adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.

For plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, Tremfya is an option when systemic therapy or phototherapy is appropriate. For ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, Tremfya is approved for adult patients only — it has not been established as safe and effective for children with those conditions.
