Why this applies to Fosaprepitant

Fosaprepitant falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Bog Labrador Tea interacts with.

In vitro research shows that aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Bog Labrador tea leaves can increase the concentration of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzymes. Extracts obtained from different geographical regions in Quebec resulted in differing potency of CYP3A4 induction. Bog Labrador tea might increase the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
Drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), clarithromycin (Biaxin), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), diltiazem (Cardizem), estrogens, indinavir (Crixivan), amiodarone (Cordarone), ticagrelor (Brilinta), triazolam (Halcion), and others.

Here's the thing about fosaprepitant (Emend Injection): it's given to help prevent the nausea and vomiting that come with chemotherapy. Once in your body, it converts to aprepitant, which is handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest Bog Labrador tea may speed that enzyme up (induce it). In plain terms, that could clear the drug faster and leave you with less protection against nausea and vomiting right when you need it most.

That said, this is based only on test-tube and lab data, not real people, so it's far from certain. Still, since this medicine is usually given in a hospital around chemo, I'd mention any teas or supplements to your oncology team or pharmacist before using them together.
