Boldo leaf contains ascaridole, a known liver toxin. Many cases of hepatotoxicity, including elevated liver transaminase levels and jaundice, have been reported in patients taking boldo.

Here's the simple version: Beyaz is a birth control pill that contains estrogen and progestin, and like other hormonal contraceptives, it's processed through your liver. Boldo leaf naturally contains ascaridole, a compound that has been linked in real-world reports to liver irritation, things like elevated liver enzymes and even jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). When you put a liver-stressing supplement together with a pill your liver already has to work on, the worry is added strain on that organ.

To be fair, this concern is mostly theoretical and built on scattered case reports, not strong studies. Still, it's worth being careful. If you take Beyaz, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding boldo, and choose only ascaridole-free products if you ever do.
