Here's the gist with Boldo and Lomefloxacin. Lomefloxacin is an antibiotic in the fluoroquinolone family, and like a number of medications, it can occasionally be tough on the liver. Boldo leaf carries a compound called ascaridole that's also known to stress the liver, and there have been real-world reports of people developing elevated liver enzymes and even jaundice while using it.

So the worry isn't that boldo changes how your antibiotic works. It's that two things capable of irritating the liver are being stacked together, which could raise the odds of liver trouble. Honestly, this is theoretical and based mostly on scattered case reports, so don't panic. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and watch for yellowing skin, dark urine, or belly pain.
