Etodolac falls under NONSTEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS (NSAIDs) — the group Caprylic Acid interacts with.

Theoretically, caprylic acid might increase plasma concentrations of NSAIDs.
In vitro research suggests that caprylic acid might displace NSAIDs from binding sites on albumin. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for etodolac and caprylic acid. Etodolac travels through your blood mostly stuck to a protein called albumin, and only the small free portion is active. In lab dish studies, caprylic acid seemed able to bump etodolac off those albumin parking spots, which could leave a little more free, active drug floating around. In theory, that might nudge up etodolac's effects and its usual side effects, like stomach upset, heartburn, a higher chance of an ulcer or bleeding, or fluid retention.

The honest part: this is purely test-tube reasoning and has never actually been seen in people, so it's likely a non-issue, especially with food amounts in coconut oil. Still, if you're planning concentrated caprylic acid supplements, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Etodolac capsules and tablets are used to manage the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, both short-term and long-term. They are also used for acute pain relief.

Etodolac extended-release tablets are indicated for the relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile arthritis (in patients aged 6 to 16).
