Here's the short version: spironolactone lowers blood pressure and helps your body shed extra fluid. There's a theory that caprylic acid might also gently nudge blood pressure downward. If both push in the same direction, you could in theory end up a little lower than expected.

I want to be honest with you, though. This concern comes only from animal studies, not real human data, so it's very theoretical. Food amounts (like coconut oil in cooking) are unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplements are more of a question mark. If you notice dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or unusual fatigue, that's worth mentioning. Before adding a caprylic acid supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

While laboratory studies show it has antimicrobial activity, strong human evidence for most supplement claims is limited. About Spironolactone

What Is Spironolactone Used For?

Brand names: Aldactone, Spiroton, Carospir

Spironolactone tablets (including Aldactone) are used to treat moderate-to-severe heart failure, high blood pressure, and fluid retention (edema) caused by liver cirrhosis or nephrotic syndrome. They are also used to diagnose and manage primary hyperaldosteronism — a condition where the adrenal glands produce too much of the hormone aldosterone.

Spironolactone oral suspension shares several of these uses — heart failure, high blood pressure, and edema from liver cirrhosis — but is not the same as Aldactone and is not therapeutically interchangeable with it. Your prescriber will choose the right form for your situation.
