Here's the gist if you take minoxidil (the blood pressure pill, not just the scalp foam) alongside concentrated caprylic acid supplements. Minoxidil is a strong vasodilator, meaning it relaxes and widens your blood vessels to lower blood pressure. Caprylic acid, in animal studies, seemed to nudge blood pressure down too. Put them together and the worry is that your pressure could dip a little too far.

In plain terms, you might feel more lightheaded, dizzy, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical and based on animal research, not real cases in people. Food amounts (like coconut oil in cooking) are very unlikely to matter. If you're thinking about a concentrated supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Minoxidil tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) — specifically in patients who haven't responded well to other blood pressure medications. They are a powerful option reserved for difficult-to-control cases.

Topical minoxidil products — including solutions, sprays, gels, and foams from many brands — are used to regrow hair on the top of the scalp (called the vertex).
