Here's the gist with your birth control pill (the ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone combo). Carob is rich in fiber and tannins, and lab research suggests those compounds can grab onto things in your gut and slightly slow down how much gets absorbed. In theory, if you swallowed your pill at the same moment you ate a lot of carob, a little less of the hormones might make it into your system.

The good news: this is rated minor and is based only on lab and animal data, not real-world cases. Still, with the pill you don't want anything nibbling away at how well it works, since reliable absorption matters for preventing pregnancy. A simple fix is spacing them out: take your pill, then enjoy carob about 30 to 60 minutes later. If you're unsure, your pharmacist can confirm.
