Butabarbital is a barbiturate, a strong sedative that slows down your central nervous system to help with sleep or anxiety. Catnip, often sipped as a calming tea, may have mild sedating effects of its own. The concern here is simple: putting two things that slow you down together could add up. You might feel more drowsy, dizzy, foggy, or unsteady than expected.

I'll be honest, this interaction is based mostly on theory and a little animal research, so it isn't a strong red flag. Still, because butabarbital is already powerful, I'd play it safe. A casual cup of catnip tea is probably less of an issue than concentrated supplement capsules. Before combining them, check with your pharmacist or doctor.
