Here's the simple version: catnip seems to have a mild calming, sleepy effect, and metoclopramide (Gimoti) can already make some people feel drowsy, tired, or foggy on its own. When you put the two together, those sedating effects could stack up, so you might feel sleepier or more sluggish than usual.

I want to be honest about the evidence here, though. This concern is mostly theoretical, based on animal research and a few reports rather than strong human studies, so it's not something to panic over. A small amount of catnip tea is unlikely to cause trouble for most people, but if you notice extra drowsiness or feel unsteady, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them regularly.

What Is Metoclopramide Nasal Spray Used For?

Brand name: Gimoti

Gimoti (metoclopramide nasal spray) is approved for adults with acute and recurrent diabetic gastroparesis — a condition where diabetes damages the nerves controlling stomach emptying, causing nausea, vomiting, and bloating. It works to relieve those symptoms by helping the stomach empty more normally.

Gimoti is not recommended for children, or for adults with moderate to severe kidney or liver disease. It is also not recommended for adults taking strong CYP2D6 inhibitor medications (certain antidepressants and other drugs that slow how the body breaks down metoclopramide).
