Cauliflower + Levobupivacaine
Levobupivacaine brand name: Chirocaine.
Cauliflower has a moderate interaction with Levobupivacaine. Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that eating cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, daikon radish sprouts, and cabbage, can increase cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) activity by 14% to 27%.

CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Levobupivacaine
Levobupivacaine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Cauliflower interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind: levobupivacaine (Chirocaine) is a local anesthetic that a doctor injects to numb a specific area, often during surgery or for pain control. It's partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Eating lots of cruciferous vegetables, including cauliflower, may nudge that enzyme to work a bit faster (studies show roughly a 14% to 27% bump).
In theory, that could clear the drug a touch quicker and slightly shorten how long the numbing lasts. Honestly, though, this is mostly a lab-and-theory concern, and normal food amounts of cauliflower are very unlikely to matter. Since this medication is given and monitored by your care team in a controlled setting, there's no need to worry. If you're curious, just mention it to your anesthesiologist or pharmacist.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

About Cauliflower
What is Cauliflower?
- General nutrition and a low-carb vegetable
- Source of vitamin C and fiber
- Antioxidant support
- Digestive and gut health
- Part of a heart-healthy diet
Cauliflower is a nutritious cruciferous vegetable that provides vitamin C, fiber, and plant compounds called glucosinolates. As a food it is healthy and safe for most people, but there is no strong proof that cauliflower supplements treat or prevent any specific disease. Enjoy it as part of a balanced diet rather than relying on pills.
