Cauliflower + Perampanel
Perampanel brand name: Fycompa.
Cauliflower has a moderate interaction with Perampanel. Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that eating cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, daikon radish sprouts, and cabbage, can increase cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) activity by 14% to 27%.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Perampanel
Perampanel falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Cauliflower interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the quick picture: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to help clear perampanel. Cruciferous veggies like cauliflower can nudge that enzyme to work a little faster (studies suggest somewhere around a 14% to 27% bump). In theory, that could mean perampanel is broken down slightly quicker, which might lower its levels a touch and make it a little less effective at controlling seizures.
Now, the practical part. This is mostly theoretical, and the evidence is on the weaker side. Eating cauliflower as a normal part of meals is very unlikely to throw off your seizure control. Concentrated cauliflower supplements are the bigger unknown. If you're considering one, or you ever notice breakthrough seizures, please loop in your pharmacist or neurologist before making any changes.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Perampanel page
“Perampanel (Fycompa) is a seizure medicine that already causes drowsiness and dizziness on its own, which is why I treat this list of 230 interacting supplements with real care. Most entries do one of two things: they add to its sedating effect, as alcohol and kava do, or they change how the liver handles it.”

About Cauliflower
What is Cauliflower?
- General nutrition and a low-carb vegetable
- Source of vitamin C and fiber
- Antioxidant support
- Digestive and gut health
- Part of a heart-healthy diet
Cauliflower is a nutritious cruciferous vegetable that provides vitamin C, fiber, and plant compounds called glucosinolates. As a food it is healthy and safe for most people, but there is no strong proof that cauliflower supplements treat or prevent any specific disease. Enjoy it as part of a balanced diet rather than relying on pills.
