Here's the simple version: chicory and alogliptin (Nesina) both nudge your blood sugar in the same direction, downward. Alogliptin is already doing the heavy lifting by boosting your body's own insulin response. Chicory, mostly through its inulin fiber and some early lab signals, may add a small extra blood-sugar-lowering push. Stacked together, there's a theoretical chance your numbers could dip lower than expected.

I want to be honest about the strength here. This is based on animal and test-tube studies, not solid human trials, so the real-world risk is likely small, especially with food amounts like chicory coffee. Still, if you add a concentrated supplement, keep an eye out for low-sugar signs (shakiness, sweating, dizziness) and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
