ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Arbinoxamine, Pseudoephedrine
Arbinoxamine, Pseudoephedrine falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Coffee Charcoal interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: coffee charcoal acts like a sponge in your gut. Because it has that porous, charcoal-like surface, it can grab onto pills sitting in your digestive tract, including your Coldec TR (acrivastine/brompheniramine-type antihistamine plus pseudoephedrine). If the charcoal soaks up some of your dose before your body absorbs it, you may get less relief than expected. That could mean your stuffy nose, sinus pressure, or runny nose just don't clear up as well.
The good news is this is a timing issue, not a dangerous reaction, and it's based on how charcoal behaves rather than hard studies. Spacing them out by at least two hours usually avoids the problem. Check with your pharmacist if you're unsure about the best schedule.

- Wound and skin care (topical, traditional)
Coffee charcoal is made by roasting green coffee beans until they turn black, creating a charcoal-like material used traditionally for diarrhea and digestive complaints.
