ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Estradiol, Progesterone
Estradiol, Progesterone falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Coffee Charcoal interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: Bijuva is an oral capsule that delivers your estradiol and progesterone through your gut. Coffee charcoal acts a bit like other charcoals, with a porous surface that can grab onto things passing through your digestive tract. If you swallow both around the same time, the charcoal may bind some of the hormone before your body absorbs it. That could mean you get less than your full dose, which might bring back symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, or vaginal dryness that the medication is meant to control.
This concern is theoretical, based on how charcoal behaves rather than firm studies with Bijuva. To be safe, a common approach is separating them by at least two hours. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

- Diarrhea

- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Mild digestive upset
- Wound and skin care (topical, traditional)
Coffee charcoal is made by roasting green coffee beans until they turn black, creating a charcoal-like material used traditionally for diarrhea and digestive complaints.
