    “Orally, ingestion of colocynth 0.6-1 grams can cause severe irritation of the gastric mucosa and bloody diarrhea (2,18). Cases of bloody diarrhea and intestinal cramps have been reported in case reports of individuals consuming the fresh fruit, the 'size of an orange' or unknown amounts of the extract. Colocynth ingestion can also cause acute toxic colitis.”

Colocynth is a bitter desert gourd used in traditional medicine mainly as a powerful laxative, but it is highly toxic and can cause severe, sometimes deadly poisoning even at small doses. There is not enough good human evidence to support its use, and most pharmacists would advise against taking it. About Isotretinoin

What Is Isotretinoin Used For?

Brand names: Accutane, Amnesteem, Claravis, Sotret, Absorica, Roaccutane

Isotretinoin is used to treat severe recalcitrant nodular acne — large, deep, inflamed breakouts (nodules 5 mm or bigger) that haven't cleared with conventional treatments like antibiotics. It is approved for non-pregnant patients 12 years of age and older. Brands include Absorica, Absorica LD, Accutane, Amnesteem, Claravis, and generic isotretinoin capsules.

Because of its serious potential side effects, isotretinoin is reserved for patients whose acne is truly severe and has not responded to other standard treatments. A typical course lasts 15 to 20 weeks, and many patients experience prolonged remission — sometimes permanent clearing — after a single course.
