Your Diutensen combines two medicines that work to lower blood pressure: cryptenamine and methyclothiazide (a water pill). The concern here is fairly simple. There's a theoretical worry that large amounts of coltsfoot may work against your blood pressure treatment, making it harder for the medication to keep your numbers in a healthy range. This isn't a case of coltsfoot building up the drug in your body, it's more about it possibly tugging in the opposite direction.

I'll be honest, this is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, not solid human studies. The bigger issue with coltsfoot is its potential to harm the liver. I'd skip it here, but please check with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.

Coltsfoot is a traditional herb long used to soothe coughs and clear mucus, but solid human evidence for these uses is lacking. More importantly, the raw plant can contain liver-toxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids, so it carries real safety concerns and is best avoided unless you use a product certified to be free of these compounds.
