Alemtuzumab falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Cordyceps interacts with.

Theoretically, concurrent use of cordyceps might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
Animal and in vitro research suggests that cordyceps stimulates the immune system. However, limited clinical research suggests that taking cordyceps may lower the necessary therapeutic dose of the immunosuppressant cyclosporine, which suggests that cordyceps may have an immunosuppressive effect.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with cordyceps and alemtuzumab (Campath). Alemtuzumab isn't a pill your liver breaks down, it's a lab-made antibody that works by acting on your immune system to clear out cancerous white blood cells. Cordyceps can also nudge the immune system, and that's where the possible clash comes in. The catch is the research pulls in two directions: lab and animal studies hint it may stimulate immunity, while some limited human data suggest it can actually boost an immune-suppressing effect.

Because the signals conflict and are mostly low quality, this is largely theoretical for now. Still, with a drug this powerful, I wouldn't add a cordyceps supplement on your own. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

Cordyceps is a fungus used in traditional Chinese medicine for energy, exercise performance, and lung and immune support. Human research is limited and mostly low quality, so its benefits are not well proven. It appears generally well tolerated in the short term, but quality varies and it should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to lack of safety data.

What Is Alemtuzumab Injection (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) Used For?

Brand name: Campath

Alemtuzumab (brand name Lemtrada) is approved for adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) — including relapsing-remitting MS and active secondary progressive MS. Because it carries serious risks, it is generally reserved for people who have already tried at least two other MS medications without adequate results.

It is not recommended for people with clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), a first episode of MS-like symptoms, due to its risk profile.
