Toujeo (insulin glargine) is your long-acting background insulin, and it already does the heavy lifting of lowering your blood sugar throughout the day. The thought here is that elderflower may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. Stack that on top of your insulin, and in theory your numbers could dip lower than expected, raising the chance of hypoglycemia (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or a fast heartbeat).

I want to be straight with you though: this idea comes only from lab and test-tube research, not from real people, so the evidence is weak. A cup of elderflower tea is unlikely to cause trouble for most folks. If you use concentrated extracts regularly, just check your glucose a little more often and let your pharmacist or doctor know before adding it.
